Built a Better Slide
One of the pitfalls of presenting information on a slide is that the audience will tend to read each new slide first and only afterwards listen to the speaker. This problem can be avoided by using the Build options on the Inspector.
Building is the process by which elements on the slide are revealed one at a time. An effective approach with a set of bullet points is to hide them when the slide first appears on the screen, and then with each click of the controller, a bullet point is revealed. This way the speaker can ensure the text appears only after the point has been made vocally, ensuring that the attention of the audience is focused on the presenter and not the slideshow.
To use the building options, select the item on the slide, and then choose the Build In tab on the Inspector. Choose a build effect, and then set the order in which you want the items to appear. A preview of the selected effects will be presented in the window at the top of the palette.
