Customizing the YouTube Buttons

Although a default set of buttons appears in a bar at the bottom of the main YouTube screen, you can customize this bar to contain the YouTube buttons you use the most. Follow these steps:

  1. Start at the Home screen and tap YouTube; then tap the More button.
  2. When the More screen appears and you see the row of buttons across the bottom (see Figure 4), tap the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the screen to bring up the Configure screen.

  3. Press and hold your finger on any button you’d like to appear on your bar, drag it down to the bar, and hold it over the button you want to replace. The button to be replaced gets a large white glow around it; once you see that, simply take your finger off the screen and your new button appears in that spot. That’s all there is to it.

    TIP

    If you’re staying in a hotel out of town, here’s a helpful tip:

    1. Go to Maps and enter your hotel’s name, city, and state.
    2. Tap Search.
    3. When Maps pinpoints your hotel on the Map, tap on the blue arrow to the right of your hotel’s name to see its info.
    4. In that info screen, tap the button for Add to Bookmarks, give your bookmark a name, and tap Save.

    Now, anytime you need directions back to your hotel, it’s easy:

    1. Go to Maps.
    2. Tap the Directions To Here button, tap in the End field, and then tap the Bookmarks button.
    3. Choose your hotel’s name. It inputs the exact address for you!

      Of course, you can do the same thing with your home, office, or any common starting or ending point.
