How to Add A Quick Border In Photoshop Elements 6
When precision isn't important for the canvas-size enlargement, you can use the Crop tool to quickly add a border to an image. Here's how to do it.
- Select the Zoom tool and zoom out by holding down the Alt key and clicking. The cursor will change from a magnifying glass with a plus sign to one with a minus sign. If necessary, click again until you can see some of the gray pasteboard surrounding the image.
- Select the Crop tool and drag a rectangle within the image—size doesn’t matter at this point.
- Drag the corner handles of the crop marquee outside the image area onto the pasteboard to define the size and shape of border that you want to create.
- After you have defined the new size for the image and border, click the Commit button on the tool options bar to apply the change. Or, click the Cancel button next to the Commit button if you don’t want to crop the image. The Background Color fills in the newly expanded canvas.
