Screen Sharing
What could be cooler than controlling another Mac from your desktop? That’s what screen sharing lets you do. You can start a screen sharing session over your local area network from the Finder or over the Internet from within iChat.
Why would you want to do this? Well, suppose you’re the family’s Mac expert. Your Mom, who lives on the other side of the country, has a Mac and always seems to have questions that can’t be answered over the phone. Instead of having a frustrating conversation to troubleshoot the problem, you can just connect to her computer, poke around until you see what needs to be done, and fix it for her. Cool. (Kind of makes me regret letting my mother switch to a PC years ago. She’s still regretting it.)
