Complete your Word Automatically
The Complete command in the Edit menu pops up a menu of possible completions for an unfinished word, as shown below. The list learns new words—type a word once, then next time you start to type it, that word appears in the list. Frequently used words appear at the top.
- Start to type a word that you’re not sure how to spell or one that is long and you don’t want to type the whole thing.
- From the Edit menu, choose “Complete,” or press Option Escape (the esc key in the upper-left of the keyboard). A menu like the one shown below will appear.
- If the word you want is already highlighted at the top of the list, just hit Return. If not, use the Down arrow key to select a word and then hit Return, or double-click on the word you want.
