Getting General System Information
Control Panel's System page is a helpful information-only window that displays:
- Your Windows edition (including Service Packs)
- Information about your processor and physical memory (RAM)
- Your computer's name and network (workgroup or domain)
- Windows registration information
You'll need some of this information when you request tech support over the phone, particularly if you're talking to Microsoft.
To display general system information:
- Choose Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System (or press Windows logo key+Break) (Figure 4.84).
Figure 4.84 This page gives basic information about your Windows edition, processor, RAM, network, and product registration.
