Automatically Backing Up Your Computer
Automatically backing up your computer is actually one of the settings you go through when you’re backing the computer up in the first place. Go into the Backup and Restore Center (Start>Control Panel>Back Up Your Computer) and click the Back Up Files button. Once you choose where to back up to, click Next. Then choose which file types you want to back up. The last screen will prompt you to choose how often you want to create a backup. Choose the settings here (or change them if you’ve already chosen them before) and click Save Settings and Start Backup. I suggest at least a weekly backup schedule. I find Friday nights work well for me, and I’ll choose a time that is in the middle of the night so I’m less likely to be on the computer.
