Quick Metadata Preset Edits for Lightroom 1.1
The Copyright section of the Edit Metadata Presets dialog box in Lightroom 1.1 now has an action arrow next to the Copyright Info URL option. When clicked, this arrow takes you directly to the corresponding website. Above that option is a Copyright Status field, also new to Lightroom 1.1 (but already included in Bridge CS3), where you can set the copyright status as Unknown, Copyrighted, or Public Domain (see Figure 1).

You can edit the copyright status via the Metadata panel, or you can go to the Metadata panel’s Presets menu, choose Edit Presets (new in Lightroom 1.1), and create a new custom metadata preset via the Edit Metadata Presets dialog box shown in Figure 1. All images to which you apply this preset (such as when importing) will be marked with the desired copyright status.
Editing Metadata Presets
With the options in the Edit Metadata Presets dialog box, you can modify an existing metadata preset and click Done to update the preset, or use the new Preset menu at the top of the Edit Metadata Presets dialog box to select Save Current Settings as New Preset. This feature neatly addresses what was a major shortcoming of version 1.0.
