Turn List
After you plan your route—or any time you’re navigating—you can view the turn list by tapping the green bar at the top of the map screen. In Figure 4.2, earlier in this chapter, this bar shows that I’m traveling on Brandywine Street to 23rd Street.
If you want to second-guess the route that the nüvi planned for you, tap the green bar to see complete turn-by-turn directions of your route, including the distances between turns (Figure 4.6). You can even tap a specific turn to view the next-turn screen for that particular turn.

Tapping the Show Map button at the bottom of the screen takes you to an overhead, 2D map view of your route, with a green flag at the start and a checkered flag at the end. The up and down arrows allow you to scroll through the turns—and I highly recommend that you do so. It’s always a good idea to double-check a route to make sure that you really want to take it . . . especially when you know a shortcut, especially during rush hour, and extra-especially if the nüvi is suggesting that you take the highway.
