Import Tabular Data
Nothing beats a table for clearly presenting spreadsheet data or tab-separated text imported from a word-processing document. More importantly, in a world full of tab-delimited data such as Excel spreadsheets, importing such text can save you hours of typing. (See the first “import tabular data” extra bit on page 57.)
- Open a page into which you want to place tabular data from another program. (In our example, we’ve duplicated index.html from the previous section and deleted everything in the main content area. After renaming it tabular.html, we’ve saved it to our example site.)
- The data appears on the Web page arranged in its own table. Inevitably, our example table has a few errors. The same methods covered in the previous section work for the imported table, so clean up as needed.
