Symbol-Editing Mode
Once a symbol is created we’ll often want to “get at” the elements inside for further editing. To do this we enter symbol-editing mode. (See extra bits on page 40.) There are two styles of symbol-editing mode. Default Edit mode opens the symbol in its own window with no other elements visible. Edit in Place lets you edit the symbol in the location at which an instance is placed and allows you to see the other objects on the Stage.
There are also multiple ways to enter symbol-editing mode:
Edit in Place is our preferred manner because it allows you to edit the symbol in context with the rest of the Stage. When you’re instructed to double-click a symbol or instance or to enter symbol-editing mode, always choose the Edit in Place mode, unless instructed otherwise.
Next, let’s add a logo to the gr_siteFramework symbol.
