Creating the High-Level Vision Prototype
Using Fireworks and Flash Catalyst, we created a prototype depicting a user interface (see Figure 2) and some basic simulated functionality (see Figure 3), in order to show management something much more "alive" than a flat slideshow presentation.

Cascade now was more than just an idea[md]it was something tangible that required only a couple of days' time investment to share with management, resulting in the approval of the project and a budget to get started.
After gaining the green light from management, it was time for us to break down our idea into functional areas and feature definitions (specifications).
