Prerequisites
To save time and space, and get right to the project at hand, I'll forgo walking you through the process of creating a Dreamweaver website in any kind of detail. Creating Dreamweaver sites is explored in plenty of available tutorials, and in depth in my books on Dreamweaver.
If you don't have a Dreamweaver site defined, here's the short course for Dreamweaver CS5:
- Choose Site > New Site. In the Site Setup dialog, give your new site a name and define a local site folder.
- Choose File > New to open the New Document dialog. Choose Blank Page in the category column, HTML in the Page Type column, and <none> in the Layout column. Click Create to create a new, blank Dreamweaver page.
- Choose File > Save and assign a filename.
The following steps assume that you've defined a Dreamweaver site and you're saving all files you create, including the HTML page and the CSS file, to that site's root folder. Other than that, you can follow the steps with any installation of Dreamweaver CS3, CS4, or CS5, with the HTML5 Pack installed.
