LG NetCast Blu-ray

LG's lineup of NetCast TVs and Blu-ray players includes various Internet-enabled options such as access to Netflix streaming, YouTube, CinemaNow, and Vudu. This fall, LG also announced support for the newly launched DivX TV, which offers access to a range of programming from traditional broadcast and cable providers as well as web-only sources. NetCast devices can also find shared content on your PCs and other home network devices that support Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification.

If you already own a Blu-ray player, you'll probably be more interested in a box dedicated to Internet and personal media content. However, if you're planning to buy a Blu-ray player or a new TV, choosing one that also offers Internet content and access to your PC-based media provides you with two entertainment devices in one.

A/V connections supported: Varies depending on device.

Pros: Internet features bundled into a Blu-ray player or HDTV limits the need for additional devices.

Cons: Integrated device approach may cause issues if you plan to upgrade later.

Best for: People who plan to purchase a Blu-ray player and want basic Internet/TV integration.
