INSERT DIV TAG
Creating table-less designs in Dreamweaver just got a whole lot easier with the Insert DIV Tag object. If you're not familiar with ID selectors, you'll want to check out "Can I See Some Identification, Please?" tip in Chapter 2 before you continue with this tip. The Insert DIV Tag object lets you place <div> tags at the insertion point, relative to other tags that have an ID; if no other tags have an ID, you can place the <div> tag relative to the <body>. Be sure that you've linked your CSS file (or have some embedded) so that the Class and ID list can be populated for you. If the class or ID you'd like to set aren't listed, just type in your own. You can even use this object to insert just the <div> tag by leaving the Class and ID fields blank.
