As I said before, you can add more buttons to this panel later on. All you have to do is create the buttons, write the code, publish a new copy of the SWF, and restart Flash. But beyond adding buttons to this panel, you can create more panels that do whatever you want. Anything you can do in a Flash movie can be done in a panel.
For example, I recently started building a panel for my employer that runs JSFL files to open common company-specific Flash templates. Currently, members of the graphics team have to search our media library, by using a web browser, for a template and open the FLA from the search results page. After the panel is deployed to the team, they'll need only to click a single button.
