Moving Apps and Creating Folders on Your Home Screen
The iPhone has some very useful apps built in, but you may not need every app that’s on your main Home screen. (For example, if you don’t play games, you might not need the Game Center app there.) Although you can’t delete these apps from the iPhone (the apps that come built in), you can move them off your main Home screen or put them in a folder. You can have up to 11 Home screens and 20 folders per screen containing 12 apps each. So, you can move less frequently used apps to another screen. To do this, tap-and hold on any app for a few seconds until all the icons start to wiggle. Now, tap-and-drag the icon of the app you no longer want on your main Home screen to the right edge of the screen. This will switch the iPhone to the next Home screen. You can either release the icon there or drag it to the right edge again to advance to the third screen, and so on. Once you get to the screen that you want to put this app on, just release it there. When you’ve moved all the apps off the main Home screen that you no longer want to see there, then you can drag any app that you don’t use regularly onto another app to create a folder. You can name the folder whatever you like. When you’re finished rearranging all your apps, click the Home button to stop the icons from wiggling and lock in your changes.
