Save Artboards as Separate Files
Suppose you’re working on an Illustrator project that has multiple artboards in a single Illustrator file. Someone asks you to send the original content from one of those artboards. Here’s how you can split artboards into separate Illustrator documents:
- Open the Illustrator file with multiple artboards.
- Choose File > Save As, and choose a name and location to save the file. Make sure that you save as Illustrator (.AI), and in the Illustrator Options dialog box, select Save Each Artboard as a Separate File. You can even choose to save them all or just a range (see Figure 9).
