Adjusting the Onscreen Keyboard
In iOS 8, you can change the location of the keyboard on your screen, or switch to a split keyboard. To adjust the keyboard, follow these steps:
Tap and hold the keyboard key at the lower-right corner of the onscreen keyboard (see Figure 5).

A small pop-up menu appears, showing keyboard arrangement options (see Figure 6):
- To undock the keyboard from the standard position at the bottom of your screen, shifting it to the middle of your screen, slide your finger to Undock.
- To split the keyboard to form two separate keyboards, one for the left hand and one for the right hand (see Figure 7), slide your finger to Split.

The keyboard arrangement options change based on your current keyboard settings. For example:
- If the keyboard is split, the Keyboard key displays a Merge option to reunite the two parts.
- If your keyboard is both split and undocked, floating in the middle of the screen, you can choose Dock and Merge to reunite the keyboard and return it to the bottom of the screen, or choose Dock to reposition the keyboard at the bottom of the screen.
