MANAGING YOUR LAYERS
If you have lots of layers that relate to each other (for example, if you're working on a logo and have six Type layers in that logo), you can create a layer set and put all six layers in that one set. What are the advantages of a layer set? For one, you can collapse the layer set so that only the folder for the set is showing, which makes your Layer palette significantly shorter and easier to navigate. Plus, with layer sets you can delete all the layers in the set by simply dragging the set to the Trash icon, or you can duplicate the entire set by dragging the set to the New Layer icon. To create a layer set, click on the New Set icon (it looks like a folder) at the bottom of the Layers palette. To get layers into this new set, just drag-and-drop them right into your new folder. To remove them, simply drag them out to a new location in the palette.
