Questions
What are the angles of the crosshairs and grid lines in an isometric grid?
What are the names for the isometric planes in AutoCAD?
What is an isocircle? Why are isocircles drawn in the ELLIPSE command?
How many different isocircles can you draw that have the same radius and the same center point?
What rotation angle and oblique angle are used to align text with each of the three isoplanes?
Drawing Problems
Using the isometric grid, draw a 4 × 4 square in the right isoplane.
Copy the square back 4.00 units along the left isoplane.
Connect the corners of the two squares to form an isometric cube. Erase any lines that would be hidden in this object.
Use text rotation and obliquing to draw the word Top in the top plane of the cube so that the text is centered on the face and aligned with its edges. The text should be 0.5 unit high.
In a similar manner, draw the word Left at the center of the left side and the word Right at the center of the right side. All text should align with the face on which it is located.
