Building Solutions
You have seen a number of solutions that you can either buy or download for free to extend your iPod on the Mac. What you will be itching to do now is to script your own extensions for the iPod.
The first step you need to take is to look at Apple's own examples. You can go here to get a review of Apple's demo scripts. The five main scripts you can review are
- Clear All Notes
- Clipboard to Notes
- Eject iPod
- List Notes
- Note from WebPages
This breakdown gives you access to the area in which Apple lets you have the most control in your iPod: the Notes section.
After you review these scripts, you'll want to find out more tips and tricks from other developers. You'll find a lot of up-to-date articles on scripting your Mac here. You might also want to check out this blog, which is dedicated only to scripting the iPod and iTunes on the Mac.
Finally, the resource you should use for everything is Google. Always say this mantra before you search for anything to guarantee results: "Google is God." Sometimes it sure feels like it!
