How To Capture Camera RAW Images
If your camera is capable of capturing images in Camera RAW format, check your manual to see how to configure this setting. In most cases, it will be in the camera's internal settings. Figure 1 shows the setting being selected in the internal menu system of a Pentax SLR.

When downloading Camera RAW images, you may find that some tools you're used to using just won't work. For example, the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard won't recognize Camera RAW images. In some cases, you may need to use software shipped with your camera; or, if your camera is recognized as a removable drive, you can copy the images from the camera by using Windows Explorer (see Figure 2).
