THE STANDARD LASSO TOOL
The standard Lasso tool is a freehand drawing tool. In the example shown at left, it's used to refine the selection: Press the Shift key and drag to add areas that weren't originally selected by a different selection tool. A “+” sign appears next to your cursor, indicating that you will be adding to the current selection. You must be sure to close the shape you draw by overlapping where you started drawing, otherwise Elements will complete the shape for you by drawing a straight line between where you started and where you ended drawing the shape. If you want to remove an area of a selection, press the Alt key and draw around the area you don't want included in the selection.
