Getting the Video on Your iPod
There are two ways to get video from iTunes into your iPod: automatically and semi-automatically. How you do it depends on how you configure iTunes.
With your iPod connected to your computer, select it in the iTunes Source list. Then click the Display iPod Options button at the bottom of the window. (Or, if you prefer, choose iTunes > Preferences and click the iPod icon in the window that appears.) Click the Videos button in the iPod preferences window. It should look something like Figure 7.

Three radio buttons determine how videos should be updated on your iPod:
- Automatically update all videos automatically copies all videos in iTunes to your iPod. You can use this option if your iPod has a big enough hard disk for all those videos and you want to carry all of them around.
- Automatically update selected playlists only automatically copies videos in the playlists you choose in the list. Use this option if you want to pick and choose among the videos to copy to your iPod. Only the ones that are in the playlist(s) you select will be copied.
- Do not update videos keeps videos from copying to your iPod. You can’t even do it manually.
When you’re finished, click OK. If you made any changes in the window, iTunes will update your iPod accordingly.
