Special Effects
You might have noticed that my comic is made up of real photographs. But what if you want to create a comic with images that look as if they were hand-drawn? With the latest 1.2 release of Comic Life and OS X 10.4 Tiger’s Core Image filters, this is easily done. New styles, such as Graphite Sky and Colored Pencils, shown in Figure 7, allow you to make your photos look hand-illustrated or shaded with dots, just like you remember from the comics you read when you were a kid. You can mix and match Style Attributes or use one of the many presets provided. Styles are live and can be changed at any time. The addition of styles takes Comic Life to the next level, where it fills a niche no other software has been able to fill.
