Daylite 3
Marketcircle currently has the latest version of its Daylite product out for beta testing. Version 1.9 lists for $149; if you purchase now you’ll get a free upgrade to version 3 when it ships. Daylite 3 delivers all the functions you would expect in a PIM application, including contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes with a few extra twists (see Figure 3). If you’re in sales, you know how important your contact list can be—along with a way to keep track of new opportunities.
Figure 3 Daylite 3 shows all the information related to a particular contact, including any links to other entries.
Daylite has an opportunity feature that lets you enter information about a sales lead such as any products involved, forecasted close date, the stage of the sale, and any other necessary details. Opportunities are typically linked to a contact and a date on the calendar, meaning you have several different ways of tracking them.
Marketcircle also offers Daylite Mail Integration (DMI) to add a seamless connection between your contacts and Apple mail. DMI stores emails linked to a contact in a database for historical purposes. You can tie a single email to multiple contacts, projects, or opportunities.
There’s also a report writer for creating specialized forms such as quotes or proposals. For group functions, there’s the ability to schedule meetings based on the availability of the other participants. The task list shows what’s next, along with whatever that task is linked to.
