Publishing to a Folder
If you don’t have a .Mac membership or if you want to store your site on a different Web server (such as one provided by your Internet service provider), you can use the Publish To A Folder command from the File menu. When you select this command, iWeb displays a Save dialog box to determine the folder in which the site is published (it defaults to the Sites folder in your home folder). Publishing to a folder is noticeably quicker than publishing to an iDisk (because the files are being created on your computer, not on a remote server). After the site is published, however, you need to use an FTP application to copy it to the remote server. Also, sites not published using .Mac have a less impressive (although still functional) slide show view for photo album pages.
