Adding Artwork
Now that we’ve covered the basics of recording and editing the audio of your podcast, let’s talk about the Podcast track. The primary purpose of the Podcast track is to include artwork that displays along with your audio content. When playing in iTunes, this artwork is displayed in the artwork viewer (in which album artwork is displayed when listening to a song). It is also displayed on the podcast episode page and in the episode list on the podcast main page.
To add artwork, select the Podcast track. Then click the Photos tab in the iLife Media Browser (click the Media Browser button if the Track Info pane is displayed). This process displays your iPhoto library. Select one of your iPhoto albums to display thumbnails of those pictures. Select one and drag it to the Episode Artwork box at the lower-left side of the window, which assigns that picture as the episode artwork. You can double-click the image in the Episode Artwork box to zoom in on a particular section of the image in the same way you can adjust a buddy icon in iChat.
You can also add images to display at various points in the podcast by dragging them directly into the Podcast track at the top of the GarageBand window. Simply select one image and drag it into the track at the position you want it to appear. A bubble similar to those that appear for segments in the audio tracks will appear. You can drag an artwork segment around to adjust at what point it is displayed. You can also click and drag on the edges to adjust how long it displays.
