Finding New Filters
The Internet is a good source of additional filters for Photoshop. Sites such as the Adobe Studio offer a selection of Photoshop filters you can download and use. Locate a filter on that site that you want to use and download it to your computer. Unzip it if it comes in a zip file and then place the filter file (it has an 8bf extension) in the plug-ins\filters folder in your Photoshop folder.
Close Photoshop and open it again. When you do, the new filter will appear on the Photoshop Filter menu, and you can click it to use it as you would any other Photoshop filter (see Figure 9).
Figure 9 This Virtual Photographer filter from OptikVerve Labs is installed in the Filters folder and is available on the Photoshop Filters menu.
