Branching Out
There are many other ways to style a calendar in addition to the methods used in this project. Here are a few suggestions:
- Another possibility when styling the smaller calendar is to put borders between rows instead of boxing in all the cells and centering the dates within their cells.
- You can visually distinguish the recurring events in the larger calendar by giving them a slightly different style than nonrecurring events. Color and font changes are the easiest to implement without upsetting the overall design, but it might also be useful to set a border or background color.
- Try rewriting the style sheet for the larger calendar to reflect another seasonal or holiday theme. Manipulating the colors and adding in a few appropriate graphics is all that's really necessary. For example, you could create a Halloween theme using orange and brown or a wintry look with snowflakes in the background. Be creative!
