Rebuilding Data for Reports
By default, Remote Desktop relies on the report data collected by a task server, which enables you to capture data from all computers on your network. It also makes the process of running a report much faster because Remote Desktop needs to query only the task server for data about all the computers instead of querying every computer. However, there may be times when you want to retrieve live data for a report. You can do this by selecting the Rebuild Data For Report checkbox that is included in every report dialog box. Doing this forces Remote Desktop to query the individual computers for current data instead of relying on the data collected by a task server. This will take significantly longer and can result in decreased network performance and decreased performance on the associated workstations. If any computers are unavailable, however, Remote Desktop cannot generate the report.
