Full-Screen Video Playback
Apple did include full-screen video playback in iTunes 7, along with onscreen translucent video controls when playing video full screen. This feature is a no-brainer if you’re going to be watching a movie. Another obvious choice was to bump up the video quality. Previous iTunes versions supported quality similar to that of an analog TV, which was adequate and appropriate for the TV programming content available from the iTunes Store. With the advent of movies, however, Apple has bumped up the quality to nearly that of a DVD (640 x 480 versus 720 x 480, if you’re curious). When watching video full screen on a Mac, you might notice that the DVD quality is not quite as high as that of a DVD, but it is pretty close.
