Additional Command-Line Options
In addition to the configurations options in Server Admin, there are two command-line options that you may need to be aware of when configuring and managing a VPN server. The most important of these is the VPN Key Agent tool that allows you to enable access for PPTP clients. Apple introduced this tool to resolve a common problem where users would be able to connect to a server using PPTP but not be able to access network resources. Another common task is adding RSA SecurID tags as an authentication option for either protocol. This process is actually very simple, and instructions can be found here (these instructions refer to Mac OS X Server 10.3, but are equally appropriate to Mac OS X Server 10.4).
