Make Web Pages
TextEdit is rather limited as a web page builder, but it does have its uses. Any online document that needs to have only text, links, and tables can be run up in TextEdit quickly and easily. Once you start adding graphics, TextEdit stops being even remotely useful with your export options being limited to Safari-only web archives and (essentially TextEdit-only) Rich Text Format Directory documents—neither of which have much, if any, support outside OS X. As a text editor, TextEdit can, of course, be used to craft as simple or as complex a web page as your HTML coding skills allow.
