Autoloading Web Pages
You can actively script QuickTime media to open a new web browser window when it’s playing via the QuickTime plug-in in a browser such as Safari. This scripting process is often referred to as wiring. For example, if your movie is a product demo, the web store could automatically open for the viewer at the end of the movie, or a team’s highlight reel could open pages for its key players during playback.
- Open a text editor that allows you to create plain-text documents (not rich text). You can use TextEdit on the Mac and WordPad on PCs.
- Type A<http://www.myurl.com/>T<_blank> (replacing myurl with the site name of your destination).
- Save the document and open it in QuickTime Pro.
- From the File menu, choose Export (Command-E is the keyboard shortcut).

- Save the file and then open that newly exported text file in QuickTime Pro.

- Select the target movie. Then choose Edit > Add to Selection & Scale.
- With the target movie still selected, choose Window > Show Movie Properties (Command-J).

- Save the movie.
Because the interactive portion of the new movie is activated only via the QuickTime plug-in, you will need to test the movie from a browser. Your audience (using Macs or PCs) will also need to have the QuickTime plug-in installed on their computers to experience this content.
