8. Color Me Beautiful
Assigning color profiles to images is an essential step when prepping images for use in different contexts. By switching from one color profile to another, the image quality will be maintained between all the different devices in the chain; that is, between the digital camera or scanner, the computer’s display, and the color printer. Preview can take care of this for you.
To do this, simply use the Assign Profile option under the Tools menu item to convert the image to the desired color profile. The different color profiles are managed via the Display pane of System Preferences. Once you’re done, you can print off your artwork, confident that the color reproduction on paper is as close as possible to the colors recorded by the scanner or camera.
