If there’s anything better than two related planes, it has to be three! The same Control-drag and Alt-drag technique can be used to create a series of three related planes. They enable you to bend your photo into a three-sided shape. For example, you could use it to create a three-dimensional cube that you can drop a photo into and it will bend around the cube.
Although in this article I used a photo of a wall to apply a photo to, you don’t have to do this. You could, for example, sketch a cube using two-point perspective and apply the image to a scanned version of it, or you can create a series of planes on a new blank Photoshop document without using any guides and apply your photo to it.
Once you get a feel for creating the grids in the Vanishing Point filter, you will find that there are lots of creative applications for it.
