Tammy Sachs is President of Sachs Insights, which was founded in 1987. The driving idea behind Sachs Insights was to establish a qualitative research consultancy that brings a user focus to the development of software, web sites, and other interactive products and services. Tammy heads a team of consultants and researchers that help corporate and agency clients integrate research into the product development process, thereby bringing successful, intuitive web sites and software to market. Prior to founding SI, Tammy was a product developer at Citicorp and was responsible for the design, research, and implementation of an interactive home banking product. She has also held a senior planning and research position at Ogilvy & Mather. Tammy attended Wesleyan University, graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology and Theater. She also holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from NYU's Stern School of Business.
Gary R. McClain, Ph.D., is Director of Research at Sachs Insights and has more than 10 years experience as a qualitative researcher, focus group moderator, and user experience tester. Gary has also been employed as a strategic planner at OgilvyOne, working primarily on the IBM account and with the interactive group. He has experience in Systems Design and User Training, which included the development of instructor-led and computer-based training courses at Infodata Systems and Martin Marietta Data Systems. He has held marketing management positions at Information Builders and Sterling Software (formerly VM Software). Additionally, he has written and edited numerous information technology books and two self-help books. He has done graduate work in Clinical Psychology and Education, with a focus on adult development and learning, and he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
