Engage, Engage, Engage
Often photographers are disappointed by the lack of engagement with their images, or the size of their following online. When asked whether they invest any time in connecting and engaging with others, the answer is usually no. Many photographers feel that the quality of their work should be enough to build a following on any social network. I'll let you in on a little secret—it's not.
You must invest time and energy into getting to know your followers as well as other users, if you want to build a following. It's important to remember the "social" part of social networking (see Figure 3).
