Layers Panel
Many Muse users have really wanted the ability to work with layers. They've finally arrived in Adobe Muse CC. Layers in Muse work similarly to layers in other Adobe apps, such as Adobe InDesign. Let's look at some of the layer functionality now available in Muse CC:
- Choose Window > Layers or click the Layers panel tab on the right side of the workspace (see Figure 7).
- Double-click a layer name in the Layers panel. In the Layer Options dialog box (see Figure 8), you can change the layer name, set options such as the color associated with the layer, and show/hide or lock/unlock the layer content. For this example, change the name of the layer and click OK.
- Using the Selection tool, select one or more objects on the page in Muse. In the Layers panel, click the Locate Object button at the bottom of the Layers panel to show the item in the panel (see Figure 9).
- Similar to working in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign, the Layers panel in Muse shows all of the content as a subset of each layer. Notice the selection indicator on the far right side of the layer and object name. This box indicates that the object is selected on the page (see Figure 10). Drag the selected indicator to the right of the layer name (or to the right of the object name in the Layers panel) straight up or down to another layer to move the object to another layer (see Figure 11).
